The motto of Dr. Beistline and his family has always been “better than before.” This reminds him to strive to have a positive influence on every person and place he encounters. He has brought this motto to Central Valley Dental Care, encouraging the team to strive to leave every person and place better than they found them.
Dr. David Beistline and Family
Dr. David Beistline is a fifth generation Alaskan, born and raised in Fairbanks. He headed down to the lower 48 to pursue his education and acquire a dental degree. He received his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010, before completing his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Western University of Health Sciences in 2015. After 10 long years away from the state he loves, he was finally able to return with his wife, Jolene, and three little ones.
Upon returning to Alaska, he had his eyes set on the beautiful Mat-Su Valley as the place to settle down and raise his growing family. Dr. Beistline’s vision of building his own premier dental practice came to fruition with the opening of Central Valley Dental Care in Wasilla in 2021.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Beistline enjoys experiencing all of the wonderful activities that Alaska has to offer. Whether it's fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, camping with his kids or attending their sporting events, spending time with his family outdoors is where you will find him.

Meet The Team
Heather Evans
Clinical Manager
Heather was born and raised in Anchorage and moved to the Matsu Valley with her two sons in 2015. She has worked with Dr. David for many years as his chairside assistant and has now transitioned to managing his practice at Central Valley Dental Care. She specializes in patient care, coordination of insurance benefits and managing the day-to-day operations of the office. She has 14 years of previous experience with insurance billing and care coordination and is compassionate about her patients and the care that they receive.
When not in the office, you will find her riding her street bike, traveling to motocross tracks across the state with her boys to race dirt bikes, volunteering as a medic for the motocross races and just enjoying all that Alaska has to offer!
Ashley Cowin
Business Associate
Ashley is our outstanding business associate here at Central Valley Dental Care. You will find her taking patient calls, scheduling appointments and greeting patients when they arrive. Ashley also specializes in verifying patient insurances, maximizing benefits and coordinating patient care. Outside of work, Ashley is a student at UAA and is working towards her B.A. in psychology. She plans to eventually spend some time abroad to further study psychology. Until then, she enjoys being a part of the team at our office and is essential to our smooth day-to-day operations.
Cherie Cowin
Registered Dental Hygienist
With 30 years of experience as a dental hygienist in a variety of settings ranging from pediatrics to periodontics, Cherie has a passion for educating and motivating patients with preventive practices. She especially feels accomplished when she makes people comfortable and happy to receive care. Cherie was born and raised in Washington state and has lived in different parts of Alaska over the past 18 years. When not at the office, she enjoys playing her violin, teaching violin, camping, hiking and spending time with her three college age children and husband of 30 years.
